Some call it another blowout, some call it a bad night.
The Boston Bruins showed up at TD Garden to play their hearts out after two players, D – Zdeno Chara, and LW – Brad Marchand led the team in scoring last night. Both players pulled a hat-trick to win the game 6 -2 against the Sabres.

The big discussion of the night, however, concerned the third period brawl that started between two defensemen behind the Sabres goal-net. The game was left with a 5 minute delay as referees scrambled to keep these players apart. Both Zdeno Chara and Sabres LW-Kahun faced 5 minute penalties with the possibility of a suspension after Chara threw water at the referee.

The second period gave the Sabres an advantage after several goalposts were hit, and a goal was called off for the Sabres after a player interfered with Goaltender Tukka Rasks’ skate within the crease. The first and third period gave the momentum to the Bruins which overturned the game and gave Chara and Marchand the advantage they needed to score the hat-trick.
Will the Bruins make the playoffs? So far, the team’s GM made a quote before the game that a matchup against the Sabres “would be a good test due to their streak in the previous set of games” that will put the Bruins up against a mighty force of pressure.
This game was another rivalry match up as Sabres struggle to meet the playoffs during the peak season of the NHL. Both teams face another matchup in a few weeks.
